Research Interest

I am interest in the area of computational imaging. I believe that the last few decades with the tremendous growth in digital world especially in the sensor array technology and ready availability of computational resources, several new developments have resulted in terms of how imaging systems are designed and acquire images. Several advanced imaging systems combine unconventional design and image reconstruction ideas to obtain imaging performance (in terms of resolution, sensitivity to noise, speed, etc.) that was not possible even 20-30 years ago. This approach in imaging science is able to push the traditional limits and has led to remarkable discoveries such as super-resolution microscopy, digital holography, 3d-microscopy, compressive MRI, and low dose x-ray computed Tomography (C.T.) etc. These advances are in turn contributing to our enhanced understanding of natural phenomena. Through in my research, I want to explore computational imaging system concepts that outperform the traditional microscopy systems. From conceptual point of view this involves: (a) the optical encoding of object information in new ways by modifying the hardware of the existing microscopes, and (b) developing corresponding computational algorithms that allow image recovery from raw data that may be noisy as well as incomplete from traditional understanding of the imaging systems. Beyond my PhD degree I am highly interested in pursuing a career in advanced Science and Technology.
